Stanwell Consulting Ltd is a professional services firm of highly skilled consulting engineers and project managers. The practice, which was founded in 2010, provides expertise in civil & structural engineering, construction procurement and project management.

Samuel Appiah

Founder and Principal Consultant

BSc PGDip MBA PhD CEng MICE MAPM

Dr Samuel Appiah is the founding director of Stanwell Consulting Ltd. He is a civil/structural engineer and project manager with over 25 years experience in the construction industry.

 

Samuel is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Association for Project Management. He has technical design and project management experience in several sectors, including residential, retail, commercial, educational, industrial and the custodial sectors. 

Over a period of 20 years, Samuel worked for various consultancy practices in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and London as a Structural Engineer, Project Engineer and Project Manager. More recently, he was the Principal Consultant for a leading multidisciplinary Consultancy firm in London, where he led and managed the design and delivery of various high profile capital investment projects.

Dr Appiah has a degree in Civil Engineering, a PhD in Construction Procurement from Nottingham Trent University and an MBA from the University of Hull Business School. He has been fortunate to have a broad professional background and experience which cuts across industry practice, academic research and university lecturing. He has published several conference papers and is the co-author of Building Procurement (ISBN: 9781119609520), a leading procurement textbook used by Built Environment University students and practitioners.

Robert Harrison

Business Development Manager

BSc (Hons)

Robert Harrison heads up the project management team and provides expertise in procurement strategies and contract management. He has a background in Quantity Surveying and Estimating having worked most of his career for both multidisciplinary consultancy practices and major contractors. Robert has over 30 years' experience in the construction industry, delivering building and infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients, including commercial, education, healthcare, housing, and highway projects.

 

With an RICS accredited degree, Rob has project delivery skills in areas such as preparation of tender documents, contract administration, cost estimation, and managing high end residential and commercial refurbishment projects. 

 

Rob leverages his wide variety of experience and commercial management background in overseeing Stanwell Consulting's project management services and business development operations.
